I was getting a lot of pain in my palm at the base of my thumb and thought it might have been due to my positioning on the bike--despite having taken my bike to the shop to have them make all the adjustments to the seat, etc. specifically for me. I didn't think gloves would help much. But after using these for the first time today, I can say that the pain in my hands was significantly less. It felt great!I was worried about the fit since these don't have a velcro closure at the wrist. But that was not a problem. They fit great and I think not having the velcro is possibly better because it doesn't create any rough spots if the two pieces of velcro don't match up exactly. Having the rough side of velcro rub against your skin is no fun! These gloves remove that possibility! The material on the back of the palm does a great job of wicking away sweat! On longer rides (over 3 hours), the palm wrinkles and starts to feel uncomfortable, 5 hours and I'm pretty unhappy. This is a classic problem I have with bike gloves because my hands are so small. These gloves are not as bad as others. They look pretty good too, which is shallow of me, but there you have it. I'd give them 5 stars but they are in DESPERATE need of some absorbent fabric where the microfiber on the thumb is. Other cyclists know why.
