5.0 out of 5 stars Good for the money, September 17, 2010

This is a small 50 lumen light you can keep on your bars for those rides when you go into dusk. It's small enough that won't interfer with your knees or stem/bar mounted computer. Using flashing mode you get you better recognized by drivers at intersections looking to turn in front of you. Otherwise they make mistake the light as a light further down the road. Wouldn't really use it for longer distances in the full dark.
Keep it in your car, makes a neat little flashlight.
Works great on a 25.4 width bar, you have to pull with a litte extra force for 31.8s.
Only Con is there've been a couple of instances when it won't shut off and I've had to remove the batteries.

Note on the rear Boomer. If you have an aero seatpost, it won't work.

3.0 out of 5 stars Most waterproof of Knogs - stars going down every day!, July 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Knog Boomer Front Light (Sports)
Was a 5 start, now down to 3 stars and going lower... read on!

I tried the Skink, Gekko and this one.

An important concern was water resistance/ water proofness. The Gekko is begging to get wrecked by the faintest amount of water, the Skink is only a bit better. The Boomer has all the electronics in a water-tight case. The Gekko in fact is basically a bare circuit board and bare batteries totally exposed and only loosely wrapped in the plastic cover with NOTHING to close any gaps around the LEDs or back. Any tiny drop of water will instantly get into the circuits of the Gekko. What were they thinking? Don't buy the Gekko! Get this one instead.

Other benefits, it turns off and on when you press and hold the single button, keeping in memory the strobe setting you last used. I fits well on my handlebars. It's also, while in a different shape for the beam, actually brighter than the Skink and Gekko which have more LEDs but sacrifice brightness for burn... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Great Light, June 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Knog Boomer Front Light (Sports)
This bike light is really simple and really easy to use. It has a soft silicone cover that blends into the attachment strap. The silicone strap can stretch around a handlebar with two layers of bar tape and still attach securely. It can also hold on something small like a seat post. The light is nice and bright. The light level is great to get you noticed. It is brighter than most and has a nice wide angle of dispersion. This won't be your light for night time vision. it simply does not project far enough into the distance for something like night racing or way finding. The one button is easy to use and is simple to learn. The silicone cover stops at the lens but fits tight so it will shed water but I wouldn't submerge it. The light also has a super tinny red led that comes on when the battery is getting low to warn you in advance before you get stuck out in the dark. Overall this is one of the best bike lights I have ever owned. I can move it from bike to bike in seconds... Read more
