I have about 300 miles logged into these shorts and I cannot find anything wrong with them. If you look around for reviews online (Other than here) there is something mentioned about the letters falling off and leaving glue-residue behind. After a few washings, I can find no wear or peeling on them. I wash them with the rest of my cycling clothes/under armor on cool water and "hand washing" in the washer.For sizing, I looked at both Amazon's and Castelli's sizing charts (Castelli's is here: [...]) Side-note: Castelli's sizing is in Centimeters so use 2.54 conversion factor from inches if you prefer :P I am around a 32-34 waist (I think 34 length (inseam) too..something around there) depending on the brand name. So a medium was certainly in my sights and I ordered that. You may want to consider going up a size from the recommended (especially if you fall very close to the next size up recommendations).
