For me the brakes fit my bill and them some. The standard side pull brakes that come with lower end bicycles really stink. These were my answer. Something to note: if you are using 700x23-28c tires you should be fine and happy. If you are running 700x32c+ then you will have to get "long reaching" ones instead. My road bike could not be any happier. Which in turn makes me happy. I think that they are really nice brakes and of good quality for the price.

I use these brakes on a TT bike I built up. They do an adequate job of stopping, but after less than a year of mostly indoor use on the trainer the bolts are rusting. I've trained indoors pouring sweat on several other brakes/bikes through the years and never had parts rust, and yes I do keep my bikes clean. For about twice this price the SRAM Apex brakes have a little more stopping power and will last much longer. Even still, I'm about to take those off my fastest bike and replace them with Dura Ace brakes, which give me far more confidence in steep descents but are in a much higher price range. I would say caveat emptor on the Jail Brakes, though I haven't replaced them yet.
