You can actually bend the links by hand and expose the inner cable. Inside is an extremely thin cable that you could cut with the smallest bolt cutters available. I honestly think it could be defeated with hand wire cutters if someone wanted to put a few minutes into the theft. A hand saw could work through it in minutes. I thought that the thickness meant it was utilizing a thick braided aircraft cable. This lock seems like it could keep any bike safe! It's thick and heavy duty. This lock makes me feel secure leaving my bike wherever I go and not have to worry about it. So far so good, because no one has ever tampered with it. The lock is easy to use and the keys open/close the lock easily. I prefer key locks to combo locks for time issues, but I know a lot of people complain about the uniformity of keys within companies or brands, but I haven't ever seen this same lock used where I live, so I feel pretty sure no one has the key for it.I think this lock was a great buy! |
