I normally wear a size 4/6 in clothing and have a fairly slender waist, but these knickers give me the ugliest tummy bulge, pushing my stomach out just where the higher rise would smooth me out. Not for my body type, and not comfy to feel my stomach bulging out unnaturally while cycling. You can't even buy cycling shorts for that price. I've never worn Pear Izumi so I wasn't familiar with their sizing. I've experienced that most women's cycling clothes run small and have previously purchased XL when I was wearing L bottoms in pretty much everything else. I have gained some weight and thought to be on the safe side I'd order up a size. They are bigger than was I was expecting based on my experience with other brands - but Pearl may be true to size and they are just how an XXL is supposed to be. This is a very good deal! I bought these knickers from Amazon and they seem perfectly in line with expected high quality for this brand.-The seams are very good quality, as is the material. Stretchy and warm but not too much. Perfect for a crisp Fall ride. -The chamois is pretty thick, which is what one might expect from this brand. I did not experience any riding up whatsoever. Easy on the sensitive areas. -I am a size 4 ordinarily (eg tahari, banana republic) and 5.6 and the size M fits perfectly. No issues with tightness on calves (mine not bulky though, 12 inches). Just enough compression to assist with pumping those legs. -The waist is lower than my other Izumi shorts, and might present issues with any love handles. Despite the lower waist, the knickers did not expose my lower back even in race position. Recommend! |
